Event Overview 

PowerGEM is hosting a 2.5-day training focused on TARA-based Generation Deliverability (GD) study tools. Led by PowerGEM experts Seungwon An and James Thomas, this hands-on program is designed for interconnection study engineers who want to build or sharpen their skills in PJM and MISO generation deliverability studies, including NRIS and ERIS analyses, input file management, and prospecting. 

Whether you are new to GD studies or an experienced TARA user looking to go deeper into regional study methodologies and automation workflows, this training delivers practical, repeatable skills through structured instruction and interactive Q&A. 

Registration opens on July 7, 2026, and closes on August 26, 2026.

Dates & Times 

Breakfast service begins 30 minutes before each session. Day 1 check-in opens at 8:30 AM for setup and registration; sessions begin at 9:00 AM. 

Registration Fee 

$2,200 for the first registrant from your organization. Covers all 2.5 days. 

$2,000 for each additional registrant from the same organization (discount code will be provided to the first registrant). 

Encourage your team to attend together. Training your team builds consistent, organization-wide capability.

  • Setup: TARA installation verification and test data access for all participants 
  • Introduction to Generation Deliverability study types: PJM GD, MISO NRIS and ERIS 
  • Overview of each region’s study methodology and loading criteria 
  • Understanding input files: sub, mon, con, and GD data structures and formats 

Afternoon 

  • Methods for reviewing and modifying input data 
  • Q&A Session — 4:30–5:00 PM 
  • Open discussion and follow-up on topics raised throughout the day 

Day 2 — September 10 | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM 

Morning 

  • Executing GD studies using TARA 
  • Comprehensive review of GD reports 
  • Duplicating results published by Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs) 

Afternoon 

  • MISO Python Automation 
  • Q&A Session — 4:30–5:00 PM 
  • Discussion and follow-up on topics raised throughout the day 

Day 3 — September 11 | 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM 

Morning 

  • Estimating mitigation costs for prospective projects 
  • Conducting NRIS and ERIS prospecting studies for future initiatives 
  • Hands-on practice and open lab time 

Afternoon 

  • Q&A Session
