PowerGEM Secures Strategic Growth Investment from General Atlantic and Announces Acquisition of Telos Energy

We help keep the lights on

For more than two decades, PowerGEM has been committed to developing software and delivering services to ensure the power grid operates reliably and the underlying markets function efficiently.
Our Story

Transforming how the power industry conducts technical and economic analysis

In 2000, power system engineers Boris Gisin and Manos Obessis saw the energy sector changing. With increasing demand and more renewable integration on the horizon, they realized that traditional modeling and analysis tools were no longer adequate to meet evolving industry needs.

They also knew that reliability and economics go hand in hand in sustaining the grid. So PowerGEM was founded to deliver mission-critical insights to support both short-term operations and long-term planning. GEM stands for grid engineering and markets, which has been the company’s focus for 25 years.

PowerGEM delivers innovative, market-leading software to forecast technical and economic risks and plan for contingencies. Our customers rely on our expert team and purpose-built technology, including TARA, PROBE, SERVM, and DAYZER to ensure reliable and affordable electricity can be generated and transmitted to power daily life.
